Creation of the Lansing Stars Athletic Club

The Lansing Stars offer many sporting opportunities for Lansing area children – regardless of income or lack of parental involvement. The children are our first priority! The Lansing Stars Athletic Club has over 200 children playing a variety of sports: soccer, baseball, softball, volleyball, and floor hockey. We host an annual floor hockey tournament, golf outing, and car washes to raise funds for fees, equipment, banquets, etc. We also provide children with travel opportunities to Cedar Point, Michigan Adventure, camping, etc. Through these activities we have partnered with Shaheen Chevrolet, Valvoline Instant Oil Change, Dean Transportation, Everett High School, Capital Area Academy, and Ironwood Links golf course. This organization does more than just sports; we offer children and their families a sense of family – one big network of support!

The Able to Play Playground Community Build Project at North Elementary School

It was amazing to be able to bring businesses, community members, the Lansing school district, and different types of volunteers together to build a lasting impact for our youth. This was a very rewarding experience for me and the 2nd ward citizens.

The Creation of the Southside Community Center

This project has been in the works for quite sometime, but to be able to say that I helped moved it to it fruition represents a great success to me. While not all residents thought this project was perfect, it was important to move forward to bring a desperately needed asset to our community.
